Whenever an animal travels by plane, they need to have a health certificate. You may need a health certificate for other modes of transportation, too. We encourage you to inquire about pet policies before purchasing tickets.
Obtaining a domestic certificate for travel within the continental United States is relatively easy. The process takes very little time (as long as your pet is healthy and current on vaccinations). Simply schedule an appointment within 10 days of your departure date, and we’ll take care of the rest.
While Hawaii is part of the US, pets entering the island state need to have Hawaii-specific health certificates. This is to help keep Hawaii rabies-free. There are strict regulations that must be met, and the process takes considerably longer than getting a domestic certificate. The regulations for international travel and health certificates are strict, too. Every country has its own requirements, and ensuring that your furry friend meets those requirements can be a months-long process. If you are visiting Hawaii or traveling internationally, we encourage you to reach out to us as soon as you know your departure date.
